Christmas Eve

Jake took the girls each out on individual shopping dates in the days leading up to Christmas for them to shop for each other. They LOVED these dates with their superhero! Then I got to help them wrap their gifts! Here is Abby learning about bows and folding corners.
My favorite part is what she asked me to help her spell on their tags. Blythe's says, "To Blythe, sprinkled with love, AJ".
Joy's says, "To Joy you are sprinkled into my heart, Abby". These are all her. She says things like this spontaneously here and there, and I loved that she chose to grace a Christmas tag with one of her lines.
Getting crafty a.k.a. let them occupy themselves with watercolors while Mama gets ready for the big next day!
Girls snuggling their daddy during Sunday afternoon football!
We went to the Christmas Eve service at Passion City with my mom, and it was beyond amazing, as always. Worship was out of this world, great message, incredible night. When we got home, we had a few things to do. Like look at where our Operation Christmas Child gift got delivered (Dominican Republic) and see the video of kids in that country receiving their gifts. Then we checked the Santa tracker app to see where he was (Africa).
Then we set out reindeer food.
 Next came Santa's treats...
Apparently this year Santa wanted M&M's, according to the girls. Luckily we had the treats for Santa that they wanted to leave! Then it was off to bed for the girls, who are in the quintessential age of being thrilled to go to sleep and thrilled to not make any noise so that Santa would come and they wouldn't be awake when he got there. It was the most magical night for Jake and I, too, as that translated into amazingly obedient go-to-sleepers so we could get on with our night!!! We truly made sure to not overlook that we are in the golden phase of Christmas Eve appreciation and that it was a night to soak in completely!
