Let your child fall headfirst out the front door of the house (down a one-foot drop onto a concrete step) while you snapped her sister in her carseat.
It didn't keep her down for long.
But I don't think I'm going to be winning any mother-of-the-year awards on that one. So this is your ego boost- whatever you've done today, it could have been a lot worse!

Oh, I am so sorry!! Sweet girl looks like she recovered really well!! I always say we are just seconds away from an ER trip at our house- I totally understand!
my friend ( a very conscientious one at that) stepped away from her newly mobile babe before buckling her in and she wiggled out of her car seat onto the ground... a much bigger drop onto concrete! sometimes i think it is freeing to feel like you are out of the race for best mom... when you think you might be near the front there is a lot of pressure to win the race, but when you totally screw up you can rest for a minute and realize that you are surrounded by a great crowd of loser moms whose kids turn out fine...
we need to get together again! we joined the botanical garden, so if you want to come with us sometime let me know!
