We went on one last hike of the year.
We wore our Christmas hats from Mimi to breakfast.
On the morning of New Year's Eve, we celebrated Katie turning two at her doughnut party. Which was one of the cutest parties I have ever seen.
Our girls loved the hats then, and they are still loving them here at home.
All the kiddos were in their PJs and pretty much couldn't have been happier between the wide variety of doughnuts and fruit!
It was a gorgeous day, so the party ended up moving outside. (By the way, notice the one sweet boy on the bottom left- he was a real trooper all morning, but here he looks a little bitter about being the lone male.)
The precious birthday girl with one of the favors- white chocolate and sprinkles covered marshmallows from St Simons Sweets.
I believe this little one looks like Blythe's real twin.
Back home, some of the neighborhood posse got out to enjoy the lovely day as well. Jane is really proud to be a new member of the bike-riding girls.
We made last minute plans to have some friends over to celebrate New Years.
Despite having a pack-n-play at his disposal, this party guest was still awake and incredibly delightful, pleasant and entertaining ALL THE WAY TO MIDNIGHT!!! He beat the other children by about 4 hours.
The Gross family raised our glasses especially high to 2012: the last full year of doctoral work! Welcome, 2012! There is so much to look forward to and enjoy in the year ahead.
