One of our summer kick-offs was a night of good ole back yard camping. We've never done this before, and it was so fun in its simplicity.
We loooove this tree. It is one of the best things about our home!
One thing Jake did to enjoy the simplicity of backyard camping was put a blow-up mattress in the tent for him to sleep on, despite my significant ribbing. Then Papa Bear ended up helping the twins settle down by lying down wedged between them to hold them still so they could nod off. Then he nodded off. And we ended up sleeping all side by side like a bunch of sardines across the narrower end of the tent with a great big unoccupied air mattress at the foot of the tent by the door. Classic. But cozy!
Breakfast al fresco in the morning! And voila, a wonderful twist on a family favorite was a huge hit! Simple things are the best things.
